One day, the mismatched socks, the missing teeth, the lopsided ponytails — they’ll all be gone.

Replaced by taller bodies, deeper voices, and grown-up versions of the very souls you’re raising now.

But right now…

There are chubby fingers reaching for your hand.

Giggles that echo down the hallway.

Soft cheeks pressed against yours at bedtime.

Little arms wrapping around your legs like you’re their whole world.

These are the moments worth remembering forever.

And even when the baby teeth are long gone…

There’s still something sacred about this season with older kids.

The inside jokes.

The quiet car rides.

The moments they let you in — even just a little.

You start to realize: these days are numbered too.

And they’re just as worthy of holding onto.

I know it can feel like there’s always time.

But we blink, and somehow the season has changed, or they’ve grown an inch overnight.
