Can We Pause for a Moment

Finding Beauty in the Quiet Moments

I believe in the magic of everyday life.
The swirl of your dress in the kitchen.
Golden light flickering over ocean waves.
Your child’s giggle echoing through the trees.

It’s the little things — soft, real — that stay with us.

That’s Why I Wrote Wildflower Letters

A little book of poems, straight from the heart —
a love note to life’s softest moments,
wrapped in words so they wouldn’t slip away.

These memories felt too precious to leave behind.

And honestly,
it’s the same reason I photograph families.

Both my pen and my camera have taught me to slow down and truly see
the way your hand rests on your partner’s arm,
how your face lights up when your baby laughs,
the way your family simply is, no performing required.

If we let them, these quiet moments become treasures —
small, beautiful truths worth holding on to.

Why Your Small, Beautiful Moments Matter

So many of the women I work with carry big hearts and soft hesitations.

You want to freeze time with your little ones.
To feel beautiful and at ease in front of the camera.
To let your family’s love shine — real, effortless, and true to who you are.

But life is loud.
Fast.
It pulls us forward before we’re ready.

And sometimes, the sweetest memories slip past us… until we realize they’re gone.

Wildflower Letters reminded me of the very thing I bring into every session:
Slow down. Breathe in the laughter.
See the beauty that’s already here.

Whether I’m photographing your family in golden light
or writing about a flower on the counter next to my coffee,
it all comes back to this:

How can I help you hold on to what matters most?

3 Ways to Hold On to the Joy in Front of You

1. Let the Little Stuff Shine

In one of my poems, I write about standing in line, noticing a flower by the register.

Her petals were soft pastel pink
A shade that whispered perfection
Each one flawless

She wasn’t trying to be seen. But she was seen.
And that made all the difference.

In photos, I look for those “register flower” moments —
the quiet ones you might miss until they’re framed on your wall.
Your child’s hand in yours.
A glance exchanged with your partner.
The wind catching your hair as you laugh without thinking.

Those are the images that take you back to how it felt.
And that’s what matters most.

2. Savor the Season You’re In

Poetry and photography have both taught me this:
Seasons pass — not just the ones on calendars, but the ones in our hearts too.

The newborn snuggles.
The braces and growing pains.
The teen who still leans on your shoulder just a little longer.

They don’t last forever.
But they are everything right now.

So take the photos.
Write the notes.
Save the strange little voice memos from your toddler.
Don’t wait for perfect.

One day, you’ll be so glad you did.

3. Be Fully In the Moment

Before a session, it’s easy to second‑guess.
What should I wear? Will the kids cooperate? Will I feel confident in front of the camera?

But the best photos happen when you stop worrying and just be.

My job is to create a space where you feel seen, safe, and free to sink into the moment —
like when you’re wandering a new city,
and something ordinary becomes unforgettable
just because you were open to it.

Those are the memories worth keeping.
The unposed, unfiltered, beautifully you kind.

Why This Matters

I wrote Wildflower Letters because poetry helps me pause and feel.
I photograph families because I want you to feel that same pause —
that stillness where life’s beauty reveals itself.

To remember not just what you looked like,
but what it felt like.

When your baby’s curls were lopsided.
When your partner reached for your hand without thinking.
When everything just felt… right.

You don’t need a milestone to celebrate this.
The now — in all its chaos and wonder — is enough.

Let Me Help You Hold Onto This Season

If you’ve been longing for someone to gently guide you through a session that feels natural, warm, and real, I’d be honored to do that for you.

Whether we’re capturing your baby bump on the bluffs, your family under the trees at Thomas Riley, or your love story by the waves in Laguna —
my camera is here to tell your truth.

Softly. Beautifully. With heart.

And if you ever feel overwhelmed, I’ll remind you:
This life of yours?
It’s already poetry.

You’re just letting it be seen.
